This past weekend, Charleston showed off what it does best - providing the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable celebration of love. Jess and Jared's Charleston wedding at The Island House on Saturday, March 15, 2025, was everything a Lowcountry waterfront wedding should be and so much more. Located just minutes from downtown Charleston, this stunning Johns Island venue offered the quintessential Holy City wedding experience with breathtaking water views and classic Southern charm.

From Halloween Meetup to Happily Ever After
Some love stories are written in the stars long before the couple even realizes it. For Jess and Jared, their journey began over a decade ago on Halloween night at the University of South Carolina. A New Jersey girl and a Virginia boy crossing paths in Columbia, neither knowing that night would be the first chapter in their lifelong adventure together. From those college days to their wedding day, their relationship has spanned states and seasons, bringing them full circle to celebrate in the state where it all began.

An Intimate First Look
Before their guests arrived, Jess and Jared shared a private moment during their first look. The emotion on Jared's face when he turned to see his bride for the first time is something I won't soon forget. These quiet moments before the whirlwind of the day truly began allowed them to center themselves and connect with each other.

Charleston Sunset Magic on the Intracoastal Waterway
If you've ever been to The Island House on Johns Island, you know that the waterfront views of the Stono River and Intracoastal Waterway are spectacular on an ordinary day. But add in what might have been the most incredible sunset Charleston has seen this spring, and you have the makings of pure magic. As golden hour arrived, the sky transformed into a canvas of yellows and oranges reflecting off the water, creating that iconic Charleston sunset backdrop that destination wedding couples dream about and even the most talented designers couldn't replicate.

Dancing the Night Away
After heartfelt vows and a delicious dinner from Relish Distinctive Catering, Jess and Jared didn't waste a minute getting the party started. DJ Rehab kept the dance floor packed all night long, with the couple leading the way. Seeing Jess twirl in her stunning Essence of Australia gown (from One & Only Bridal) while Jared kept perfect rhythm in his Men's Warehouse suit, it was clear these two were made to dance through life together.
The evening flowed seamlessly from emotional toasts to energetic dance breaks, with Chris Dodson's beautiful guitar playing during the ceremony and cocktail hour setting the perfect tone for the celebration.
