The Back Story.

Heather came into my life roughly 3 years ago. We were actually in the same small group at church; however, we never attended a meeting at the same time. We were both selling for MLM companies, and she followed and messaged me on Instagram to tell me about Arbonne. (Fast forward, 3 years and I started using the products!)

We started hanging out quite a bit, and was my "adopted" roommate. Heather has held a special place in my heart, and I couldn't imagine my life without her.

Fast forward to September 2020, Heather called me after a first date, and was VERY unsure how it went. She told me about this guy named Zach, and how she hoped they'd see each other again; but again, very unsure if it would happen. From that moment forward, there was no Heather without Zach. The two became a dynamic duo, and Zach become one of us.

On December 18, 2021, Zach proposed to Heather at her parents' home in Massachusetts. They planned the perfect micro-wedding over the next 7 weeks.

Getting Ready.

The morning was quiet and VERY rainy, as everyone started to get to the AirBnb on Isle of Palms, SC. Heather got ready with her mom, her Maid of Honor and twin sister, Katie and her Charleston best friends (who all played a role in her BIG day.)

Heather's hair and makeup were done by Lindsey Brill, who also played the role of the Wedding Coordinator. I (obviously) was her and Zach's wedding photographer. Morgan was there as her right-hand man, supplying champagne and snacks to start off the day!

As the morning progressed, the weather started to clear up and more family members began to arrive for Heather's first look. She decided not to have a First Look with Zach, but instead with all 4 of her parents, 2 grandparents, and Katie and her boyfriend; as well as her Mother-in-Law, Sister-in-Law, and niece. It was such as special moment. The first look was proceeded by Heather giving all of her parents and Mother-in-Law, the sweetest notes on the backs of photographs.

I met Zach for the day at Hampton Park, where the happy couple got married. He was already there with his side of the family. We walked over to the oak tree where he would marry Heather, and got a few detail shots and portraits with his family (including his adorable niece)... But most importantly, he read Heather's handwritten vows and opened a sweet wedding gift from his bride.

The Ceremony.

Heather and Zach got married under a beautiful Live Oak Tree in Hampton Park, located in Downtown Charleston. The attendees only included their parents, siblings, grandparents, and niece; and they streamed their ceremony for other relatives and friends to watch.

Both of Heather's parents walked her down the aisle and gave her away to Zach. It was such a sweet moment for the newlyweds. The ceremony was performed by Pastor Stephen Popadich of Seacoast Church, where Heather and Zach are members.

Mr. and Mrs. Hans!

After the ceremony, the two took some gorgeous portraits with their families and just the two of them around the Park. During the couples portraits, I asked Zach "What song reminds you of Heather?" His response was "trap music", if you know Heather, they should not come as a surprise. He then requested "Don't Take the Girl" by Tim McGraw; and they had their first dance as husband and wife in the park!

After all the portraits, they headed to the Grand Bohemian Hotel, located just a few blocks away, for a cocktail hour and dinner. The two enjoyed a beautiful dinner surrounded by their families, and even have a dance party between courses. It was definitely a day/night to remember.

Heather and Zach: Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for choosing me to capture one of the best days of your lives. It was such an honor and a privilege to witness, and I hope you enjoy scrolling through some of my favorites! XOXOXO!
